Basketball Recap: Dekalb Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Waubonsie Valley, DeKalb was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Sycamore Spartans by a score of 40-29. Given the Barbs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Spartans are ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

DeKalb is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Sycamore, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-17.

DeKalb will host Naperville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Naperville Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully DeKalb likes a good challenge. As for Sycamore, they will be taking part in a tournament against Stillman Valley at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Stillman Valley will roll in looking for their 25th straight win, something Sycamore surely won't give up without a fight.
