Recap: Harris County Tigers vs. Drew
The Harris County Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 66-57 to Drew. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Harris County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron Phillips, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Phillips hasn't dropped below 19 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Mataye Youman, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Harris County's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Drew, their win ended a 21-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-17.
Harris County will take on Northside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Northside's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. As for Drew, they will head out on the road to take on Mt. Zion at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Mt. Zion focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
