Preview: East Bakersfield Blades vs. Delano Tigers
East Bakersfield is 4-0 against Delano since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The East Bakersfield Blades will head out on the road to face off against the Delano Tigers at 4:00 p.m. East Bakersfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, everything went East Bakersfield's way against Wasco as East Bakersfield made off with a 65-39 victory.
Meanwhile, Delano was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 44-40 to Rosamond. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Delano came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while Rosamond is ranked 810th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jotham Amodo, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Lopez , who scored 5 points along with 8 assists and 7 rebounds.
East Bakersfield's victory bumped their season record to 3-3 while Wasco's defeat dropped theirs to 2-3.
East Bakersfield was able to grind out a solid win over Delano in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, winning 51-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Bakersfield since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
