Volleyball Recap: Vinton-Shellsburg Falls to Benton in First Game of Season

Vinton-Shellsburg unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Benton Bobcats on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 12 in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-18.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vinton-Shellsburg will square off against Charles City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Benton, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Williamsburg at 5:00 p.m. on September 9.
