Soccer Game Preview: Northern Guilford vs. Grimsley

The Northern Guilford Nighthawks will venture away from home to square off against the Grimsley Whirlies at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Northern Guilford will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Grimsley better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Northern Guilford's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Northern Guilford really gets things going. The Nighthawks were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over Western Guilford. Give Northern Guilford's defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

They hit Western Guilford with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brileigh Donahue, Teagan Doughty, Leah Blackwell, and Kylie Guardado.

Meanwhile, Grimsley fell victim to Page and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. The shutout was out of character for Grimsley seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Northern Guilford's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those six matchups. As for Grimsley, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3-3.
