Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Comes Up Short

St. Joseph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 57-38 bruising from the Staples Wreckers. The game marked the Cadets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why St. Joseph lost, don't look at Jayden Febus. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Reed, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points.

Staples was led to victory by Dhilan Lowman and Mason Tobias. Lowman went 5-for-12 on his way to 17 points and five boards, while Tobias dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. That's the most boards Lowman has posted since back in February of 2024. Adam Udell was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds.

St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Staples, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

St. Joseph has already played their next contest (against Danbury), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Staples, they have already played their next match, a 59-36 win against Westhill on the 17th.
