Football Recap: South Allegheny Skates Past Brentwood with Ease

South Allegheny won the last time they faced Brentwood and things went their way on Friday too. The Gladiators really took it to the Spartans for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-6 victory. With the Gladiators ahead 42-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

South Allegheny's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Cook, who picked up 35 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 80 yards. Alijah Cook was another key passer, throwing for 94 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

South Allegheny didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kymair Brown and Hakim Harrell.

South Allegheny has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 41.0 points this season. As for Brentwood, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Allegheny will take on Carlynton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brentwood, they will face off against Sto-Rox at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
