Basketball Recap: Knightdale Knights vs. Wake Forest Cougars

There's no place like home for the Knightdale Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Wake Forest by a score of 57-46 on Friday. Given Knightdale's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Cougars are ranked 480th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Knightdale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamari Williams, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals. Ibukun Adewumi was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Wake Forest's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Lashley, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Scotty Jones, who scored 15 points.

Even though they lost, Wake Forest were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. This was only their 12th loss (out of 13 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Knightdale has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Wake Forest, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Knightdale will head out on the road to face off against the Rams at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Anthony Roberts and Isaiah Green. As for Wake Forest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Huskies at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
