Baseball Recap: Shenango Find Success

Shenango got themselves on the board against Laurel on Tuesday, but Laurel never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Spartans. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won eight in a row.

Sam Patton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Campoli, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Shenango's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Laurel, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shenango will take on South Side at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Laurel, they will face off against Mercer at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
