Basketball Game Preview: Wildwood Warriors vs. Middle Township Panthers

The Wildwood Warriors will face off against the Middle Township Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Wildwood is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Wildwood will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Ocean City, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Wildwood snuck past Ocean City with a 56-51 victory on Saturday. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Raiders are ranked 164th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Middle Township was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 53-48 to Thrive Charter.

Wildwood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points over those games. As for Middle Township, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.

Wildwood skirted past Middle Township 41-38 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wildwood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
