Sonoraville hasn't had much luck against North Murray recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Phoenix will venture away from home to challenge the Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. Sonoraville has given up an average of 30.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Sonoraville is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Rockmart on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Phoenix came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 50-28. The Phoenix were down 36-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Sonoraville had strong showings from Chaz Pate, who threw for 347 yards and three TDs, and Langston Butler, who picked up 144 receiving yards and one score. Meanwhile, North Murray put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Union County as they made off with a 46-24 victory. Given the Mountaineers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Panthers are ranked 340th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sonoraville better keep an eye on Hudson Hulett. He was instrumental in North Murray's win, rushing for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 120 yards and one TD. Layten Myers was another key player, gaining 113 total yards and two touchdowns.

Sonoraville couldn't quite finish off North Murray when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 26-24. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Myers, who rushed for 57 yards and three scores, and also picked up 41 receiving yards. Now that the Phoenix know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
