Football Recap: Christ the King Piles Up the Points Against St. Edward

Christ the King's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the St. Edward Green Wave, posting a 44-14 win. The Gladiators' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Zylin Lewis was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 137 yards and three TDs on only nine carries, and also threw for 204 yards and one touchdown on only ten passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Lewis was just one part of a punishing run game: Christ the King was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 253 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Although St. Edward took the loss, they still got scores from Zach Sauceda and Jivonni Leix.

Christ the King's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for St. Edward, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Christ the King wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 50-8 defeat against Chicago Hope Academy on the 26th. As for St. Edward, they have also already played their next game, a 48-0 loss against Wheaton Academy on the 26th.
