Mira Costa came tearing into Friday's match with seven straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits. The Mustangs were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Jackrabbits, so the Mustangs were just returning the favor.

Mira Costa didn't let Long Beach Poly take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22.

Audrey Flanagan paced Mira Costa's offense, picking up 11 kills. Flanagan got some help from Milly McGee and her 19 assists.

Mira Costa's victory bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Long Beach Poly, their defeat ended a seven-match streak of away wins and brought them to 21-7.

Coincidentally, Mira Costa and Long Beach Poly will both be playing Centennial the next time they take the court. The Jackrabbits will head out to face the Golden Hawks at 5:35 p.m. on Friday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
