Football Game Preview: King Academy Knights vs. Christian Academy Saints

The King Academy Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Christian Academy Saints at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in King Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

King Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Wardlaw Academy, who was ranked tenth at the time (King Academy was ranked second). The Knights took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 36-0 victory over the Patriots. Give the Knights' offense some serious credit: that high-scoring performance was actually the fewest points they've scored all season.

King Academy found their leader in sophomore Joseph Morse, who rushed for 268 yards and three TDs while picking up 14.9 yards per carry. Morse showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 54 yards.

King Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 364 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 188 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

One reason for the win was King Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Dallas Hill with two.

Meanwhile, Christian Academy played a tough game on September 5th in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 42-16 to Laurens Academy. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-8.

Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for King Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
