Baseball Game Preview: Byron Tigers vs. Stillman Valley Cardinals

The Byron Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Stillman Valley Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Byron will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

On Monday, Byron made easy work of Winnebago and carried off a 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Stillman Valley's offense. They came up short against North Boone on Monday, falling 12-0. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Byron's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Stillman Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Byron couldn't quite get it done against Stillman Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-3. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
