Belleville West extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 16-8-1. They had just enough and edged out the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins 6-4. The Maroons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Griffins, too.

Colton Ferrara tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Belleville West got a big performance out of Austin Weissert, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs. That's the most hits Weissert has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Braden Fournie, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI.

Belleville West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Father McGivney Catholic only posted a batting average of .240.

As for Father McGivney Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-7. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs.

On Father McGivney Catholic's side, Isaac Wendler made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
