Santa Clarita Christian will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Faith Baptist extended their winning streak to seven on Thursday. The Contenders never let Desert Christian get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory.
Hailey Coronel made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Coronel was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Lianna Palacios was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last five games she's played. Opal Thomas was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Faith Baptist was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .579. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Santa Clarita Christian faced off against Palmdale Academy Charter School on Thursday. The Cardinals blew past the Jaguars 24-17.
Faith Baptist pushed their record up to 11-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Santa Clarita Christian, their record now sits at 9-5-1.
