Softball Recap: Dallas Christian Wins Going Away Against Vanguard College Prep

While Dallas Christian put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Vanguard College Prep. The Dallas Christian Chargers put the hurt on the Vanguard College Prep Vikings with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Chloe Solis was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Solis was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Zailey Freeman and Sammi Boothe did most of the damage at the plate: Freeman scored two runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Boothe scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. With that strong performance, Freeman is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Briar Boothe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Dallas Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Vanguard College Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Dallas Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-1 victory against Lake Country Christian on the 6th. Vanguard College Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Texas School for the Deaf at 4:30 p.m. on March 27th.
