Cibastian Broughton Turns in Season-Best Effort

Fleming Island came up short on Friday despite Cibastian Broughton delivering his best game to date. Broughton threw for 359 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 90 yards on only ten carries. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. He has become a key player for Fleming Island: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Unfortunately for Creekside, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Broughton. Broughton threw for 221 yards and five touchdowns the last time he and the Knights duked it out back in October of 2023.

The win snapped Orange Park's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-5 record. Ruiz and Orange Park will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ponte Vedra at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.

Ponte Vedra pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Case and Ponte Vedra will face off against Middleburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
