Mendon came tearing into Monday's match with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Colon Magi by a score of 6-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 14-0 back in April.

Rowan Allen was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Allen wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mattea Bingaman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Cienna Nightingale, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Mendon pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Colon, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6-1.

Coming up, Mendon will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Climax-Scotts at 5:00 p.m. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.14 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Colon, they will head out to challenge Bellevue at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Magi are facing the Broncos at the right time seeing as the Broncos are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
