Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Cooper Cutchins and Maria Delyannis Lead Norfolk Academy to Victory

Norfolk Academy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past the Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins with a 37-32 win on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Leading Norfolk Academy to victory were Maria Delyannis and Cooper Cutchins. Delyannis went 8 for 17 en route to 18 points and six steals, while Cutchins posted seven points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Cutchins a new career-high in steals.

Norfolk Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8. As for Cape Henry Collegiate, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Norfolk Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-7 win against Peninsula Catholic on the 4th. Cape Henry Collegiate has also already played their next game, a 49-28 defeat against Hampton Roads Academy on the 4th.
