League recap: Lowe's hitting boosts Decatur

3A Region II District 9 league recap: 3/8/13

Cain Lowe was on fire this week, as he led 3A Region II District 9 with a .316 average with seven RBIs. Meanwhile, Decatur put together a 4-1 week.

Sanger's Ted Wisdom was the best pitcher in the league this week. He won one game and struck out ten batters.

Gainesville's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 17 hits and nine walks, both of which led the league.

The league boasted ten .400 hitters over the past week. The group was paced by Kody Adams, who collected 14 hits in 22 at bats for a .636 average.

Five RBIs over the past week allowed the Leopards' Dillon Schroeder to boost his season output so far to 11, tops in the league.



Gainesville's Landon Bond struck out 12 Bowie hitters en route to an 8-5 victory on February 26. Over his six innings pitched he allowed zero runs on three hits.

Lowe drove in five runners as the Eagles defeated Western Hills 17-3 on Thursday. He went 2-for-5 and scored one run.
