Baseball Recap: Olympia Sets Scoring Season-High Against West Orange

Olympia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Orange Warriors. One positive for the Titans, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Olympia got a good showing from Bryce Moore, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Moore has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Ethan Rathmann made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kingston Ebanks, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Olympia's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for West Orange, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Olympia didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-3 victory against Cypress Creek on the 3rd. As for West Orange, they have also already played their next game, a 7-5 defeat against Timber Creek on the 3rd.
