Baseball Recap: Kofa Drops Highest Score of Season Against Canyon View

Kofa took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Canyon View, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Kofa Kings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Canyon View Jaguars on Friday. The Kings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ryan Rosas was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Conor Ramirez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Kofa has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. Canyon View moved to 5-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kofa will face off against Gila Ridge at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Canyon View, they will challenge Youngker at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Canyon View's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Youngker's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
