Soccer Game Preview: Tivy vs. New Braunfels

The Tivy Antlers will head out to square off against the New Braunfels Unicorns at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Tivy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tivy managed to keep up with Pieper until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Tivy came up short against Pieper, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, the Antlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 431st, while the Warriors are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Braunfels). Their defense stepped up to hand Wagner an 11-0 shutout on Monday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Unicorns with their most commanding win of the season.

The win got New Braunfels back to even at 7-7. As for Tivy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Tivy might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from New Braunfels in their previous meeting back in January. Can Tivy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
