Football Recap: Elliot Baldini Key Part of Team Effort in Berries Win

Logansport had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Muncie Central Bearcats by a score of 31-24 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Berries in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Logansport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elliot Baldini, who rushed for 102 yards and one score. The Berries are 7-1 when Baldini posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxsyn Walker, who rushed for 98 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Logansport was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 271 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 238 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Logansport didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Louis Rozzi and Karsen Jackson. Jackson has been hot, having also posted eight or more total tackles the last seven times he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Muncie Central lost, don't look at Landan Johnson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 92 yards and one TD, and also caught one score.

Logansport's record now sits at 8-3. As for Muncie Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Coming up, Logansport will welcome Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Muncie Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
