Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Labelle

LaBelle entered their tilt with Island Coast on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Island Coast Gators by a score of 57-50. This was a revenge game for the Cowboys/Cowgirls: when they faced off against the Gators back in December of 2024, they had to take a 50-48 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead LaBelle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jerrahd Williams, who posted 14 points in addition to eight assists and six boards. Williams has been hot, having also posted four or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Giovanni Beaver, who had 13 points and seven rebounds.

LaBelle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Island Coast lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Izaiah Bacchus, who put up 20 points. That's the most points Bacchus has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermiah Oliveras, who posted 16 points.

LaBelle's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Island Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

LaBelle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-42 victory against Lemon Bay on the 10th. As for Island Coast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-48 win against Mariner on the 10th.
