East Union waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They never let the Baldwyn Bearcats get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The Urchins' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last five contests.

Hunter Huffstatler made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Lamontagne, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Whitfield, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

East Union pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Baldwyn, they moved to 14-7-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Union will host West Union at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Baldwyn, they will welcome Tremont at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bearcats are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
