Basketball Recap: Jonathan Pluviose's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pine Forge Academy over Girard College

Pine Forge Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 44-26 fall against the Girard College Cavaliers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-27 two weeks ago.

Pine Forge Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jonathan Pluviose, who went 5 for 6 en route to 11 points and three blocks. Andres Trellis was another key player, putting up five points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Pine Forge Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Pine Forge Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Girard College, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-15.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Foundation Collegiate Academy the next time they take the court. Pine Forge Academy will host Foundation Collegiate Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Girard College will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
