Dixie is a perfect 3-0 against Park City since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Dixie Flyers will be taking part in a tournament against the Park City Miners at 12:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Saturday.
Dixie made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Skyridge, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Dixie put the hurt on Skyridge with a sharp 13-3 victory on Friday. Considering the Flyers have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jake Andreas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Dixie let Carson Hunt and Weston Gilmore run wild. Hunt went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Gilmore went 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Gilmore hit this season. Marcus Benson was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Dixie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyridge only posted an OBP of .406.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Park City). They blew past East 12-1 on Friday. The Miners haven't had any issues with the Leopards recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Wesley Dewitt made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Dewitt was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Royal Matthews and Justin Michaelis did most of the damage at the plate: Matthews scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Michaelis scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. Michaelis also brought in three RBI, which is notable because Park City is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Colton Schmidt, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Park City now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Dixie, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Dixie has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Park City struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dixie took their win against Park City in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3. Does Dixie have another victory up their sleeve, or will Park City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
