Grant Park snaps seven-game streak of losses at home

Recap: Grant Park Dragons vs. Illinois Lutheran Chargers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Herscher, the Grant Park Dragons were happy to have found some success on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Illinois Lutheran and snuck past 33-30. That's another feather in the cap for Grant Park, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Alejandra Maldonado continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 12 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Sluis, who scored 11 points.

Grant Park's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-17. As for Illinois Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Grant Park won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th. Unity Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
