Basketball Recap: Northside Christian's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Northside Christian had lost three straight headed into Thursday's game, but Elijah Ahlers didn't let it get to four. The Northside Christian Mustangs came out on top against the Bradenton Christian Panthers by a score of 69-61 on Thursday thanks in part to Ahlers, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. What's more, he also racked up six assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024.

Northside Christian's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Bradenton Christian, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside Christian and Clearwater Central Catholic will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Clearwater Central Catholic will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Northside Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bradenton Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Winthrop College Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
