The Benicia Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Cardinal Newman Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Benicia sitting on three straight wins and Cardinal Newman on 13.
Benicia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Petaluma a 3-0 shutout.

Not much got past Alana Robinson, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Petaluma off the board. Robinson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ava Rojas was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Cardinal Newman challenged Newark Memorial on Friday. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Newark Memorial's batters probably weren't too happy with Callie Howard, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up zero walks).
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jordyn Johnsen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Nicole DiMarco was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Cardinal Newman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.
Cardinal Newman's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Benicia, their record is now 16-10.
Benicia beat Cardinal Newman 3-0 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
