Baseball Recap: Cedar Grove Comes Up Short

After flying high against North Star Academy on Wednesday, Cedar Grove came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Verona Hillbillies by a score of 8-6 on Friday. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 7-4 to the Hillbillies when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cedar Grove moved to 11-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Verona, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Cedar Grove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Hoboken on the 3rd. As for Verona, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-0 victory against Boonton on the 3rd.
