Baseball Game Preview: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks

Mountain View hasn't had much luck against Ironwood Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mountain Lions will square off against the Nighthawks at 4:00 p.m.

Vista Grande hit Mountain View with a five-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mountain Lions lost 9-0 to the Spartans. The Mountain Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ironwood Ridge played against Sabino on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Ironwood Ridge pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.

Mountain View came up short against Ironwood Ridge in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 6-3. Can the Mountain Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
