Basketball Recap: Sidwell Friends Takes a Loss

Sidwell Friends was the 66-50 winner over Riverdale Baptist when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Quakers fell 56-51 to the Crusaders on Tuesday. While the Quakers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Crusaders 16-11 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Sidwell Friends lost, don't look at Ian Condon. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 29 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadah Washington, who posted four points in addition to seven assists and six boards.

Riverdale Baptist's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ean McLaughlin led the charge by putting up 14 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kyle Logan, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 15 points.

Sidwell Friends' record now sits at 0-2. As for Riverdale Baptist, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Sidwell Friends wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-34 win against Marist on the 6th. As for Riverdale Baptist, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-59 loss against Clinton Grace Christian on the 4th.
