Lake Zurich scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Metamora Redbirds by a score of 70-67. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Redbirds are ranked 23rd).

Lake Zurich's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Metamora, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Zurich will square off against Zion-Benton at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. As for Metamora, they will challenge Morgan Park at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
