Volleyball Recap: St. Albans Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

St. Albans entered their tilt with Chapmanville Regional on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Tigers. While the Red Dragons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-31-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant St. Albans was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-14.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Albans to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aaliyah Reynolds, who had nine digs and four aces. That's the most digs Reynolds has posted over her last 11 matchups. Another player making a difference was Ellah Smith, who had six kills, four digs, and two blocks.

They weren't the only good server: St. Albans was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive games.

St. Albans' win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Chapmanville Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Coincidentally, St. Albans and Chapmanville Regional will both be playing George Washington the next time they take the court. The Tigers will head out to face the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Red Dragons will play them later in the day, at 8:30 p.m.
