The Guyer Wildcats will square off against the Marcus Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Marcus will be up against a hot Guyer squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Wildcats simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Hebron 44-16. Considering the Wildcats have won three games by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Guyer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Corbin Glasco led the charge by picking up 97 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 97 receiving yards gave Glasco a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Zephyr Kreye, who threw for 154 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 passes.
Guyer's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Khyren Haywood was especially locked on to Hebron's QB and sacked him twice. Haywood is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another thorn in Hebron's side was Owen Whistler, who made ten total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Meanwhile, Marcus got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They blew past Braswell 42-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Marauders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Bengals are ranked 305th).
Guyer better keep an eye on Colton Nussmeier. He was instrumental in Marcus' win, throwing for 272 yards and three touchdowns. Their leading receiver Luke Susko was Nussmeier's top target yet again, picking up 80 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Marcus now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Guyer, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Thursday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Guyer has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 212.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Marcus struggles in that department as they've been averaging 176.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for Guyer against Marcus in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-13 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Marauders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
