Softball Game Preview: Minarets Mustangs vs. Sierra Chieftains

The Minarets Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Sierra Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Minarets has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Minarets and Yosemite had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Mustangs took a 17-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Badgers on Friday. Mustangs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Badgers since on Friday.

Meanwhile, Sierra fell victim to Chowchilla and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Tribe, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Minarets' loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Sierra, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Minarets might still be hurting after the 13-3 loss they got from Sierra in their previous meeting last Friday. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
