Basketball Recap: Ganado Hornets vs. Tuba City Warriors
The Ganado Hornets had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They secured a 54-49 W over Tuba City. That's another feather in the cap for Ganado, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Grant Paddock had an outrageously good game as he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Keon White, who scored three points along with three steals.
Tuba City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyrell Begaye, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tyler Tsinnie, who scored 15 points.
Tuba City struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Ganado pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.
Ganado's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Tuba City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ganado will take on the Sand Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Averaging 59.67 points so far this season, Page's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Hornets better be ready for a challenge. As for Tuba City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chinle is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
