Basketball Recap: Independent Comes Up Short

Independent was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Garden Plain Owls 68-25. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Owls are ranked 133rd).

Independent's loss dropped their record down to 0-12-1. As for Garden Plain, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-8.

Coming up, Independent will square off against Chaparral at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Garden Plain, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Owls face off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
