Baseball Recap: Upper Darby Takes a Loss

Upper Darby was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Springfield Cougars. If the Royals were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Upper Darby saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tim Ramierez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Upper Darby's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Springfield, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 2-6 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Upper Darby will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Penncrest at 3:45 p.m. on the 28th. As for Springfield, they will head out to face off against Haverford at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
