Softball Recap: Olympia Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Olympia nor Normal Community made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Spartans fell 5-1 to the Ironmen. Surprisingly, this marked the Spartans' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Olympia's loss dropped their record down to 15-9-1. As for Normal Community, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olympia will host Illini Bluffs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Normal Community, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Champaign Central at 4:00 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Ironmen have won eight straight at home, while the Maroons won ten straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
