Basketball Recap: Smyer Takes a Loss

After flying high against Morton last Friday, Smyer came back down to earth. The Smyer Bobcats took a blow against the Whiteface Antelopes on Tuesday, falling 66-22. The defeat continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Antelopes: they've now lost six in a row.

Smyer's loss dropped their record down to 21-9. As for Whiteface, the victory (which was their 22nd in a row) raised their record to 29-2.

Smyer and Whiteface should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Smyer will square off against Seagraves at 6:15 p.m. on Friday up 738 places (491 vs. 1229). Similarly, Whiteface (ranked 101st) will meet Plains (ranked 273rd) at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
