Soccer Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Hanover's Winning Streak

Hanover and Atlee squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Hanover had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Hanover can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Atlee are ranked 16th).

The loss snapped Hanover's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-6-1 record. As for Atlee, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Hanover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Atlee, they will challenge Monacan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Monacan will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Atlee surely won't give up without a fight.
