Baseball Recap: Leonard Comes Up Short

Leonard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell 10-6 to the Santaluces Chiefs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chiefs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in March.

Leonard saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samuel Nunez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Juan Pablo Llorente, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Leonard's record now sits at 2-11. As for Santaluces, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.

Leonard and Santaluces could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Lancers (ranked 529th) will meet Dr. Joaquin Garcia (ranked 220th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Santaluces will square off against Spanish River at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (477 vs. 160).
