Softball Recap: Great Bridge Find Success

Great Bridge won the last time they faced Kempsville and things went their way on Friday too. The Wildcats walked away with a 10-7 win over the Chiefs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Bailey Bliven spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 13 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cassie Kleier, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Hannah Ferrell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Great Bridge's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Kempsville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Great Bridge beat the Chiefs by a score of 10-7 later that day.
