After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wilmington, McClain was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Washington Blue Lions 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

McClain was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (106-97), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 27-25, 25-18, 13-25, 15-13.

McClain found their leader in sophomore Kambriah Tomlin, who had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Tomlin.

McClain was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They are a perfect 4-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Washington's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sophia Shaw, who had 16 assists and seven digs, and Gracie Moore, who had eight digs and two aces. Peyton Hughes also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
