Basketball Recap: Millington Central Takes a Loss

After flying high against Craigmont last Tuesday, Millington Central came back down to earth. The Millington Central Trojans fell just short of the Brighton Cardinals by a score of 57-55 on Friday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Millington Central lost, don't look at Aiden Maclin. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 16 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody McGhee, who posted eight points along with five assists and four steals.

Millington Central moved to 11-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Brighton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Munford the next time they take the court. Millington Central will host Munford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while Brighton will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
